TV Hits "The Apprentice" & "The Office" Bring Business Mainstream As "The Corporate Circus" Turns Satiric Book About Employee Types Into Entertainment & Licensing Opportunity

San Diego CA February 13 2004--In hit reality and comedy TV shows, Donald Trump's "The Apprentice" and Ricky Gervais' "The Office" are bringing business to a mainstream audiance and opening eyes and minds to the inside of a typically cloaked business world, while in publishing Adela JP's book, "The Corporate Circus," takes a satiric look at company employee types through an entertaining range of characters from the Ringmaster CEO, Marketing Director Lion and Sales VP Bull to a Gossiping Rat, Cat Secretary and Vulture Lawyer.
"The Corporate Circus is a tongue-in-cheek satiric look at the all-too-familiar types workers encounter in the business world," says Adela JP, who authored the book and created the entertainment and licensing property of the same name. An MBA and former company executive, Adela finds humor in business and hopes her dialogue rich book and licensed characters will help people realize how others may perceive them, while bringing a laugh and fun to all who enjoy The Corporate Circus.
The Promotional Products Show in Las Vegas is the U.S. launch site for the most unique Circus to hit the entertainment world since clowns donned red noses. The Corporate Circus is set to take America by storm and bring a laugh and goodwill to anyone familiar with the how businesses operate.
Michael Polin, who heads licensing at The Corporate Circus, said, "We launched the property at the Brand Show in England late last year and at the Las Vegas Promotional Products Show in January and received excellent response from the both the product and entertainment communities. The Corporate Circus is now tracking to be an animated TV show, launch a plush products line and make significant inroads in the licensed and promotional product sectors.
Sariah Smalley, President of London-based Keyline Licensing, which oversees international licensing throughout Europe and other areas for the property, said, "The licensing community's interest in the creative and uniquely innovative property is outstanding as The Corporate Circus is creating a buzz and is prepared to open new and untapped opportunity for licensed product that relates to the global business world."
Elevating public awareness of the entertainment aspects of the business world are two prime TV shows. The Trump focused NBC hit reality show, based on young entrepreneurs vying to be his apprentice and head one of his companies, is bringing real business into living rooms each week. Also, the surprise Golden Globe winner for Best Comedy is the lesser known but very "in" BBC America hit TV show called "The Office," co-created by Gervais, who also stars as a department boss with an inflated sense of his own importance and features a variety of entertaining corporate types.
The Corporate Circus is a fantasy soap opera look at the workplace, detailing the office drama and travails of 15 characters that Adela created by satirizing personality types prevalent in companies and work environments worldwide. "The property and book poke constructive fun that we hope will alleviate the job stress people encounter," said Adela. Her book is an intricate story adaptable for promotion and licensing opportunities including novelization, television, theatrical release and a broad array of product categories, added Polin.
As Adela's story goes, a dissatisfied and frustrated worker named Amy is caught up in a boring dead-end job. While attending a focus group to reduce job stress, she falls asleep and imagines an elaborate business fantasy world called "The Corporate Circus." In her dream, her colleagues "morph" into The Corporate Circus characters and share their office experiences. The characters show her the fun in the everyday corporate life and ignite Amy's imagination, brighten her workday and give her a new perspective on work and life.
The Corporate Circus, Inc. copyrighted characters, trademarks, and company concept are drawing interest from a broad range of licensing and entertainment companies. The characters take the form of personified animals or characters and include:
. Ring Master, the fearless "boss" whose clown face belies his tough management style.

. Gorilla, the Research &Development genius creates and designs products and ideas.

Adela JP said, "The Corporate Circus takes a fun look at personality types familiar to anyone who has worked. From employee motivation seminars and other training tools, to a television concept for adults or children, The Corporate Circus has unlimited possibilities. The Corporate Circus is a metaphorical look at corporate life. Amid the important work in the corridors of corporate power, the human element is often overlooked. I hope The Corporate Circus will bring a therapeutic laugh to those living their own corporate circus life."
